Victory in Victoria for Joanna

Congratulations to OM Joanna Klatten (2000-01; Southfield), who has celebrated her first professional tournament win after triumphing at the Women’s Victoria Open in Australia. Joanna, in her first professional season, snatched victory on the 18th at the Spring Valley Golf Club after the scores were tied.

Klatten hit an impressive 68-shot last round, five under par, including three birdies and an eagle, meaning her last 25 holes were completed in an astonishing eleven under par. "I like the last holes here: I've never done that," she said.

Klatten attended Millfield in 2000 to develop her golf and English skills, and represented the School on several occasions, becoming Somerset Schools Girl Champion in 2001. She went on to reach the final of the Todd Bowl in 2003, only losing to former team mate and Millfield pupil Alex Marshall.

She graduated from Institut de l'Assomption in 2004 before attending Georgia State University in America.

Karen Nicholls, Director of Golf at Millfield said, “Joanna is a very talented golfer and was always determined to succeed”.
