GB off to a mixed start in New Zealand

Simon and Richard Mantell are both in the Great Britain squad for the Champions Trophy in Auckland, where the national side are facing tough matches in their group, against Pakistan, Spain and Australia.

It was a Simon Mantell special which earned them a narrow 2-1 win in their first round match against Pakistan, but, despite another goal from the OM winger against Australia, GB eventually went down 4-1 to the World Champions in their second match.

OMs help Great Britain to Bronze in Malaysia

Richard and Simon Mantell and Nick Brothers were in the Great Britain Squad for the 10 day Sultan Azlan Shah Cup which took place in Ipoh in May, and in which 7 of the world's top international sides  competed.

The team had mixed results in their group matches, beating Malaysia 3-1, Pakistan 3-2 and New Zealand 3-1 but losing to India 1-3, World Champions Australia 1-2, and South Korea 1-3.

As a result they played New Zealand for the Bronze medal, running out winners by 4 goals to 2, with all three OMs playing significant roles.
