Helen works for Grant Thornton the International Accountancy firm which runs both a school leavers and a graduate recruitment campaign. She says that a cross-over might be possible for individuals wishing to go directly into employment from school to benefit from their in-house training programme. Married to John, with two daughters, both OMs, she combines being a GP, with special interest in dermatology, with managing 250 rare breed sheep – Grey face Dartmoor – on their farm in Somerset.

Having been in the catering industry for the past thirty years, she now runs a four star silver award B and B on Hayling Island where she lives with her golf pro husband, Raymond. They have three daughters and two grandchildren.

He now works for chartered surveyors in the south east, managing rural estates for traditional landowners, charities and the Ministry of Defence.
