He has led an astonishingly varied life. A record- breaking javelin thrower in his younger days, he joined the army and then went into films. He started a charter business in Cyprus and later became involved in the 1982 Lebanese war. After writing a book, he went to the US and opened a yacht charter business in Florida. He married a Texan, wrote and painted, and survived a massive heart attack – because of his training at Millfield!
