FROM CHRIS MANTELL
Dear Fellow hockey players,
I cannot believe that it is a year ago that I sat down to invite you all to come back to Millfield for our special Hockey Reunion and OM dinner. It was truly a memorable event, giving us all the opportunity to catch up after a number of years as well as being able to demonstrate those dazzling skills on the hockey pitch. I think that few of us who attended the dinner later in the evening will have forgotten being royally entertained by Abs’ reminiscences. Two weeks later yet another display of OM talent entertained the crowd at Parents Day in what has become an annual event, the Vanda Steer Memorial match. Unfortunately it will not be possible to hold that match on Parent’s Day this year and therefore I would like to propose that we combine this match with the Annual OM Reunion to be held on Saturday 19th June, along with a Ladies OM match versus the School 1stXI. The matches would take place on the Butleigh Astros on Saturday afternoon. This, of course, would enable players to meet up with other OMs attending the Reunion and to attend the dinner if they wish.
I do hope that what has become an annual tradition now for OM Hockey, the Vanda Steer Memorial match, can be maintained. I would be very pleased to hear by email (cam@millfieldschool.com) whether you would like to be involved.
Best wishes
Chris Mantell
